The Noble One - 2006
Harvested 10/6 and 11/1/2006 Brix 24.5 Alcohol 14.0% Acidity .55 pH 3.7 Cases Produced 350

Vineyard source: 100 % from the 10 year old Klindt Vineyard Dijon 115, 667, 777, and Pommard , including 2 barrels of 115 picked on 10/25/2006.

Tasting Notes: A nose of dark fruit is complemented by spice and fennel. The flavors offer exotic notes of Kumquat, blood orange and red licorice. Hints of grapefruit rind and tobacco lead into the finish of oak and spice. Pronounced acid and tannins assure a long life. Ready to drink but will age well with proper cellaring.

Winemaker Notes: The 2006 wines were aged in 70% new French oak barrels until the following summer. At that time the wines were racked from the barrels, blended and returned to the barrels to finish aging--a total of 19 months in oak. Each lot and clone was aged separately, and then blended to result in the maximum complexity. They have had additional bottle aging until release in spring of 2011.
