Harvested 9/ 15 28, 10/18/2006 Brix 24.4 Alcohol 14.2% Acidity .63 pH 3.57 Cases Produced 540

We were fortunate to obtain fruit from the Wiley Vineyard, (largely 30 year old Pommard vines), which, combined with a small amount of Cerise Vineyard fruit produced a wine in the Delicacé style.

Tasting Notes: A nose of cherry and cola is enriched by notes of baking spices. Predominant flavors of tart pie cherries, baking spices, cola and black tea with hints of orange peel in the long finish. Good acidity and well integrated tannins. A typical Delicacé. Ready to drink now; with proper cellaring will age gracefully over the next 5-7 years.

Winemaker Notes: The 2006 wines were aged in 70% new French oak barrels until the following summer. At that time the wines were racked from the barrels, blended and returned to the barrels to finish aging--a total of 19 months in oak. Each lot and clone was aged separately, and then blended to result in the maximum complexity. They have had additional bottle aging until release in spring of 2011.
