NEW RELEASE!
The Vineyards: The 2008 Courtney Benham Petite Sirah is produced from selected vineyards in the Monterey County wine region, known for its temperate weather with fog and coastal influence. Grapes of exceptional quality allow us to create wines with intense aromatics, firm tannins and rich, concentrated flavors. The 2008 harvest started off a bit challenging, but produced beautiful fruit all the same. Lower yields allowed intense, superb fruit to develop.
Winemaker's Notes: Aged for twelve months in French oak, this dense Petite Sirah is a deep, dark ruby color with solid and firm yet approachable tannins. Aromas and flavors of concentrated blackberry, raisin, spicy black pepper, plum and black cherry create a wine rich with character. A slight hint of smoke and well-integrated oak flavors lead to a rich, full finish.
Food & Wine Pairing: Seafood paella, prime rib with a rich mushroom sauce, or a chocolate ganache cake would be the perfect match for our Petite Sirah.
